If you come at the right time of year, Clear and Branch offers some good whitewater, and you can have a great hiking adventure along the Walkabout Trail. A perfect nearby hotel is Fairfield Inn & Suites Worcester Auburn, and visiting Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is just something you need to do if you haven't yet. This lake is so wonderful. At Pout Pond you can make out Sugarloaf Hill, and do explore Knowlton Brook if you're here

in the 80's at Pout Pond; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are ordinarily in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Pout Pond are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Float down the rapids of Quinebaug River in a kayak, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Border Trail.
