Very beautiful scenery and brilliant skiing is what you get at Bradford, and after a long day outdoors Sierra Suites Woburn is a magnificent spot to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. | | down into the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Pomps Pond temperatures drop to the 10's. Mishawum Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to, and near Pomps Pond you hit upon a golf course called Woburn Country Club. This lake is so wonderful. Pond truly is in the middle of a stunning outdoors paradise. If you get bored of Pomps Pond, you could also take a look at close by Mill Pond. Paddling on Concord River is so much fun; Pomps Pond is a glorious location to visit for
more than one day, Camp Cedar is a glorious location to camp nearby. What a place this is for outdoors people. Skiing at Blue Hills is one of those things you just should do, and don't forget to take a great little tour to Fowle
Brook. The summit of Blueberry Mountain can be observed from Pomps Pond, and if you're visiting from Boston-Cambridge-Quincy, you won't be the only one. Looking for a good spree? Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area is rather
right next door to Pomps Pond, and get wet paddling on Charles River. Pomps Pond gets a good deal of water; November is when you get the most rain here, and August on the other hand is the driest.

Lake Cochichewick
 | 10 miles away Lake Cochichewick formerly known as Great Pond, is located near the inersections of rt 125 and Great Pond Road in North Andover MA. The lake is a little over 200 acres and long and narrow but widens quite a bit in the middle. The average depth near in the midde is about 40ft however the lake can reach depths of up to 60ft. The lake is a protected reservoir so fishing and boating are by town permit only. Swimming and gas moters are prohibited. Large and small mouth bass are in decent numbers as well as perch, pickerel, sunfish, also there is Northern Pike around but few have hooked up one in the summer season. Mercury level are fairly high so it is recomended to limit the consumption of fish to 1 meal a month. Most of the locals you will meet on the lake are all artificial bait, catch and release fisherman.... |
