But wait, there's more to do close to Pistol Pond. You can run the rapids of Natchaug River right next door to Pistol Pond; Woodstock Town Beach is pretty nearby if you're in a beach type of mood. This place, Pistol Pond, it truly has so much outdoors entertaining stuff. Dry warm beds await you at Scottish Inns Sturbridge, and if you came for an overnight stay Yogi Bear's Sturbridge Jellystone Park is a great location       to camp. A visit to Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is recommended, and the scenery at Cedar Pond Dam is picturesque. Golf can be played at Royal Oaks Country Club; if you've had enough of Pistol Pond, Cedar Pond is nearby. There's whitewater on Quaboag River for all you adrenaline people, and unsurprisingly Cedar Brook flows through this area. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Pistol Pond there are plenty of folks from                  Willimantic; Outdoor world Campground is a brilliant campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Everybody close by loves skiing at Pine Ridge; Pistol Pond is not the only location close by, Walker Pond is a close by lake. The warmest time of the year at Pistol Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Pistol Pond are in the 10's. All the water falling down from the sky makes Pistol Pond a wet site; the month with most of the rain is November, and the driest month of the year is February.
