Martha's Vineyard State Forest is a perfect local forest, and tremendous skiing awaits you at Haystack. What a place this is for outdoors folks. It's a delightful idea to stop at Potter Brook, it's next to Pelham Lake; get your heart beating on the great whitewater of Pelham Brook. All the water falling down from the sky makes Pelham Lake a wet location; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is February. Pelham Lake Dam has great water scenery and it's near Pelham Lake, and if the weather is delightful, you can go for a hike along the Mount Olga Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Berkshire East has glorious slopes and a friendly staff, and if you came for an overnight stay Peppermint Park Camping Resort is a great location to camp.
