Take a side spree to Hayward Brook, and there are some nice whitewater spots on Charles River. All the outdoors enjoyable stuff close to Old Wayland Reservoirs will keep you coming back repeatedly. Overthrough Hill is clearly visible from Old Wayland Reservoirs, and a good nearby hotel is Hampton Inn Boston/Natick. Lakes? Sure, Pickerel Pond is in the vicinity. If time allows, Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area is a national park worth stopping at;

| | if you're here and you like golf, you can check out Sandy Burr Country Club. The high level of rainfall makes Old Wayland Reservoirs a relatively wet site; throughout November this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is July. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Old Wayland Reservoirs, you'll come across Nonesuch Pond which is a beautiful lake; Snake Brook Dam is not far at all from Old Wayland Reservoirs. typically tend to be in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are generally in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Old Wayland Reservoirs.
There's so much to do here at Old Wayland Reservoirs that you need to camp here for a while, Northport Campground is a perfect site for that, and you'll meet a lot of people from Boston-Cambridge-Quincy here. This lake is so wonderful.
Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Assabet River; good skiing awaits you at Blue Hills. After a long day outdoors Courtyard Boston Natick is a fine location to spend a night or two, and you can stay the night at Pine Hollow Camping.
