A visit to Newfield Pond is always a good idea. The high level of rain makes Newfield Pond a relatively wet site; during November this area sees the most rain, and September is the month with the least moisture. Man, is there heaps of amusing stuff to do next to Newfield Pond. Chestnut Hill is beautiful and can be distinguished from Newfield Pond, and why not head up to McIntyre and strap some skis to your feet. Cold Springs Brook is a glorious site to check

| | out, and splendid water scenery is available at Newfield Pond Dam in the vicinity of Newfield Pond. You're probably interested in lakes, Swains Pond is one of those nearby. There's so much to do here at Newfield Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Tyngsboro Campground is a good site for that. Summertime highs at Newfield Pond ordinarily tend to be in the 80's. place to get some rest. Get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Assabet River, and a round of golf at nearby Nabnasset Lake Country Club is a brilliant way to kill some time. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Newfield
Pond without first paying a visit to Wicassic Falls; a great site to visit is Scotty Hollow. This lake is so wonderful. Newfield Pond is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Tynsborough Campground is a brilliant local campground,
and a good nearby hotel is Stonehedge Inn & Spa. A great forest in the vicinity of Newfield Pond is Lowell-Dracut State Forest; there are plenty of people from Boston-Cambridge-Quincy here at Newfield Pond. If only every place
had this much outdoors amusing things, what a great earth it would be. This is a pleasant region for people who like lakes. Stony Brook Reservoir is a lake in the vicinity.

Locust Pond
 | 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
