The sight of Chestnut Hill from Newfield Pond is beautiful, and if you need a place to stay Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Chelmsford/Lowell is a good choice. Now, you may feel that's heaps but there's even more fun stuff to do here at Newfield Pond. Scotty Hollow is next to Newfield Pond and is a glorious place. Don't stop me now, cause I'm havin' a brilliant time here at Newfield Pond. Paddling on Concord River is so much fun, and a great forest nearby is Lowell-Dracut

course nearby. This lake is so wonderful. This is a glorious vicinity for folks who like lakes. Swains Pond is a lake close at hand, and naturally Cold Springs Brook flows through this region. During the months of summer at Newfield
Pond temperatures are mostly in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and nighttime lows all through the winter for Newfield Pond tend to be in the 0's. Dry warm beds await you at Stonehedge
Inn & Spa, and why not head up to McIntyre and strap some skis to your feet. Newfield Pond Dam is not far at all from Newfield Pond; you can stay the night at Tynsborough Campground. Tyngsboro Campground is a great campground nearby, and get wet paddling on Assabet River.

Locust Pond
 | 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
