Oak Hill is lovely and can be made out from Muddy Pond, and Colonial Hotel is a good spot to get some rest. If you need a place to stay Super 8 Gardner is a great choice, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Pine Ridge is relatively near. Muddy Pond gets a lot of water; during August this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. Millers River has a magnificent whitewater paddling spot nearby; not far from Muddy Pond you'll come across

do here at Muddy Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Lake Dean Campground is a wonderful place for that, and the skiing at Wachusett Mountain is good. Throughout the summertime months, highs typically are in the 80's at Muddy
Pond. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Muddy Pond.
