Mud Ponds is always a pleasure to visit. Summertime highs at Mud Ponds regularly tend to be in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Mud Ponds. This lake is so wonderful. Hills Campground is a tremendous local campground; at Mud Ponds you always meet someone from Pittsfield. All the outdoors fun things near Mud Ponds will keep you coming back many times. After a long day outdoors Stockbridge Country
Inn is a good place to spend a night or two. Mud Ponds is not the only site nearby, Stockbridge Bowl is a nearby lake, and get your heart beating on the tremendous whitewater of Bash Bish Brook. You can never get enough of the
great skiing at Catamount; if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Wild Cat Trail. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Bousquet if you're here; going for a hike along the Brickhouse Mountain Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity.
