After a long day outdoors University Lodge is a great location to spend a night or two, and there's some attention-grabbing stuff to make out at Goodnough Dike in close proximity to Morton Pond. Morton Pond is not the only place close by, Peppers Mill Pond is a close by lake; Morton Pond is a great location to visit for more than one day, Sunsetview Farm Camping Area is a great location to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Bear Hill is easy to spot
from Morton Pond, and get dripping wet paddling on Quaboag River. If you're here at Morton Pond, you could have a look at Sunk Brook; the skiing at Pine Ridge is pleasant.
High View Campgrounds is a good local campground, and if you need a site to stay Wilbraham Inn is a great choice. During the months of summer, highs generally are in the 80's at Morton Pond; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's,

and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Morton Pond. Yep, outdoors amusing stuff to do are in fact bountiful here at Morton Pond. A round of golf at nearby Mill Valley Golf Links is a nice way to kill some time, and if you've had enough of Morton Pond, Sunk Pond is nearby.
Morton Pond typically gets a lot of precipitation; through May this area sees the most rain; February meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Float down the rapids of Millers River in a kayak.

MORE STUFF NEARBY:

Forest Lake
Firstly, Forest Lake does not offer any camping whatsoever, public or private. There is a Jewish retreat camp within 1/2 mile of Forest Lake, however that is not open to the public and is not on Forest Lake itself. Camp Ramah is on Pattaquattic Pond. In neighboring Monson, MA, there is a camp, but that is about 10 miles from the only access point offered to the public on Forest Lake, and is also not connected to Forest Lake in any way. Forest Lake in Palmer, MA, only has about 100 ft. of publicly accessible shore, probably about fifty of which is a swimmer's beach. Fishing is allowed. You can launch boats, but there is a 10 mph and 10 hp limit for motoring. Currently, the restaurant and bar across the street, ''Doyle's'', previously ''Lakeview Lounge'' is closed. Palmer is a lovely, quiet town off of the interstate with few accomodations for those looking to stay overnight, nevermind camp. Campers should look elsewhere and day-trip to Palmer if they want to try their luck at this small-town community beach....

Quinebaug Cove Campground
14 miles away
WE are located on the beautiful East Brimfield Reservoir where there is a five mile canoe trail. WE offer some of the best fishing, hiking and camping in the area. Need more reasons? Sturbridge Village, Six Flags, Worcester Art Museums. We offer something in the area for everyone. And don't forget the Brimfield Flea Market in May, July and September!! One of the biggest outdoor flea markets!! WE are considered to be in the foothills of the beautiful Berkshires where hiking/walking abound. The Berkshires house many craft shops, Jacob's Pillow and some great restaurants.

Those are just a few of our attractions. Centally located to the Worcester and Springfield areas and not all that far from Boston. See the Sox!

Our Campgound has an olympic size pool, small store and the friendliest staff! Our manager, Lou, is available to help your stay become more memorable. With a good knowledge of our area and attractions he can assist you in your camping experience.

Come for a visit and come again!

The Springfield Paddle Club is a private swimming club with a beach on Bass Club.  The entrance is from South Branch Parkway.  We have a lovely beach and a floating dock about 20 yards from shore.  Consider joining us for wonderful swimming all summer long....

Millers River
17 miles away
Rode it today.... lost 5 canoes on it as it rained last night and transformed into Class IV rapids.... Luckily we rescued 1 canoe and all 12 people got safely off of the river....

Pine Acres Family Camping Resort
18 miles away
Great place, everything you need for a fun time. We camped in tents, electricity and water at sights that were roomy enough for tent and screen house. Canoe rentals, rod rental and bait, beach and a pool, good hiking trails ( with wild bluberries and blackberries). Most important clean bathrooms nothing worse than a camp ground with crappy facilities (forgive the pun)..Ben a couple of times great place!!...

Barton Cove Campground
19 miles away
I have been going there for over 20 years. It is a great place to take a family and if you are lucky, you will get to see the bald eagles (I actually got to see their first flight)....Lovely campground with huge, clean wooded tent sites. Some sites overlook the Connecticut River, and a few offer access to a swimming or fishing beach. There are some high cliffs on the river side of the campground, partly blocked with post and rail fencing. Small children may not respect the fences, so that should be considered when families with kids choose their site. Overall very enjoyable, and I look forward to returning soon....
