A lake nearby is Judkins Pond, and lots of people from Boston-Cambridge-Quincy come here. Man, is there heaps of fun stuff to do near Mill Pond. A tour to Magazine Beach in the neighborhood of Mill Pond is always a good idea, and do pop by Wedge Pond Dam while you're here. If you come at the right time of year, Charles River offers some pleasant whitewater, and Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area is a glorious spot nearby. highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Mill Pond. Not far from Mill Pond you can enjoy the trees of Brooks-Parkhurst Town Forest, obviously you could also check out Wedge Pond while you're here; it's not
far at all. Why not camp at Camp Micah if you're here at Mill Pond, and after a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Woburn is a fine site to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. A quick journey to Aberjona River in the neighborhood
of Mill Pond is a good idea, and go to nearby Turkey Swamp. This lake is so wonderful. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. Camping is available at Camp Cedar, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes
of nearby Blue Hills. This lake is so wonderful. There are some nice whitewater spots on Concord River; the snow is great at Bradford. On a pretty day you obtain a sight of Andrews Hill from Mill Pond; Best Western New Englander is a nice location to get some rest.

Lake Cochichewick
 | 12 miles away Lake Cochichewick formerly known as Great Pond, is located near the inersections of rt 125 and Great Pond Road in North Andover MA. The lake is a little over 200 acres and long and narrow but widens quite a bit in the middle. The average depth near in the midde is about 40ft however the lake can reach depths of up to 60ft. The lake is a protected reservoir so fishing and boating are by town permit only. Swimming and gas moters are prohibited. Large and small mouth bass are in decent numbers as well as perch, pickerel, sunfish, also there is Northern Pike around but few have hooked up one in the summer season. Mercury level are fairly high so it is recomended to limit the consumption of fish to 1 meal a month. Most of the locals you will meet on the lake are all artificial bait, catch and release fisherman.... |
