This lake is so wonderful. A pleasant close by hotel is Americas Best Value Inn Lee, and here at Mill Pond you can make out East Bald Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. Mill Pond is right by the Elbow Trail, also Windemere Lake Dam is worth a visit since you're here. Mill Pond sees pretty high levels       of precipitation; most of the rain falls throughout August; February is the month with the least moisture. You feel that's enough? Just getting warmed up. If you come at the right time of year, Sandy Brook River offers some pleasant whitewater, and do take a hike on the Indian Trail. For the duration of the warm days of summer at Mill Pond highs are generally in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. All through the winter the                  highs are frequently in the 30's, and night lows during the winter for Mill Pond tend to be in the 0's. Here at Mill Pond there are plenty of people from Torrington, and you can never get enough of the wonderful skiing at Mohawk Mountain. There are some nice whitewater spots on Farmington River - West Branch, and a great site to camp here at Mill Pond is Cold Spring Campground. A lake close by is East Indies Pond, and if you need a place to stay Blackberry River Inn is a nice choice. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things near Mill Pond. On a nice day you can visit Holleran Swamp, a swamp in the vicinity of Mill Pond; if you get bored of Mill Pond you could also explore nearby Windemere Lake Reservoir.
