Mascuppic Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. This lake is so wonderful. People from Manchester-Nashua love to come to Mascuppic Lake, and Concord River has a wonderful whitewater paddling spot nearby. From Mascuppic Lake you get a great panorama of Curtis Hill, and a golf course nearby is Nabnasset Lake Country Club. High temperatures at Mascuppic Lake during the summertime months are in the 80's while nighttime lows are typically

| | in the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's while Mascuppic Lake nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 0's. Paddling on Merrimack River is so much fun; if you need a site to stay Hawthorn Suites Boston Chelmsford is a splendid choice. Campground is a perfect spot for that. But wait, there's more to do near Mascuppic Lake. Upper Flint Pond is a great lake near Mascuppic Lake, and fine skiing awaits you at McIntyre. This lake is so wonderful. Scotty Hollow is a nice
spot to check out close by. Lakes? Sure, Althea Lake is in close proximity. Mascuppic Lake is a wet location that gets a large amount of precipitation; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain; the driest
of the months is September. Swamps don’t sound that good but Tyngs Swamp near Mascuppic Lake is pretty good, and while you're here, you could check out Bridge Meadow Brook.

Locust Pond
 | 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
