Do stop by Lower Pond while you're in this part of Massachusetts. Near Lower Pond you hit upon the Spring Trail which is a great hiking trail, of course you could also go to Upper Pond if you're here; it's not far at all. Man, is there plenty of amusing things to do close to Lower Pond. There are some magnificent whitewater spots on Millers River - Lower,
and you can go for a hike on the Richard Trail. South Plains is a great site, and if you're here you can play some golf at Orchards Golf Course Superintendant. If only every spot had this much outdoors fun stuff, what a great world
it would be. Rainbow Motel is a wonderful local campground; on a pretty day you can stop at Sandy Beach.
Going for a hike on the Link Trail is always a good adventure, and if you've had enough of Lower Pond, Stony Brook Reservoir
is close by. Batchelor Brook is a good place to visit, and the great people of Springfield like to hang out close by. Lower Pond commonly gets a large amount of rain; during the month of May you get the most rain around here, and January on the other hand is the driest.
