It's always fun to stop by Long Pond. This lake is so wonderful. At Long Pond you can make out Bofat Hill; a brilliant close by hotel is Autumn Inn. Go for a hike on the Richard Trail, and on a pleasant day you can take a look at Dead Swamp, a swamp in close proximity to Long Pond. rest. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Blandford is close to Long Pond; Long Pond sits in the shade of the Bryant Hill. Since you're here at Long Pond why not have a look at Indian Hollow, and naturally, this is a splendid
area for people who like lakes, Scout Pond is a lake in the vicinity. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Link Trail; a fine location for whitewater paddling is Swift River.
You'll meet a lot of folks from Springfield here, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Baker Brook. At Long Pond through the warm days of summer highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into
the 50's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 30's while Long Pond nighttime low temperatures during the winter are in the 0's. Long Pond is a fine place to visit for more than one day, Berkshire Park Camping Area is a fine place to camp nearby. Lakes are fine; Grotto Pond is a lake that's close to Long Pond.

There used to be a lot of fish - but now only bluegills -Millfoil is one of invasive weeds in pond. Pond over years has a lot of garbage thrown in it-used to swim there- would not dare now especially where beach used to be.... |
Walker Island Camping
 | 11 miles away The staff at Walker Island was very friendly. There were many faucets located near campsites, and an outhouse, and an outlet in some sites. Our sites were located by the brook which on the other side is a busy road that large trucks occasionally rumble by. The pool was 5ft deep, compared to the 'small beach' which is literally a pile of sand plopped by the brook. No swimming in this beach. The arrow pointing to the spring is really a spring hung on a tree. Not so funny when your vacation hopes were to swim in some natural waters. Hiking may be difficult to find ask for directions.... |
