You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors cool things the area near Long Pond has to offer. After a long day outdoors Elm Motel is a tremendous spot to spend a night or two, and Long Pond is right by the Richard Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Don't forget to take a delightful little visit to Baker Brook, and the slopes of Berkshire East are so inviting nobody can resist. The summits of the Bryant Hill add much beauty to       the neighborhood around Long Pond. There's so much to do here at Long Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Berkshire Park Camping Area is a great place for that. At Long Pond you always meet someone from Springfield. A lake nearby is Damon Pond; hiking along the Link Trail is glorious fun. The high level of rain makes Long Pond a reasonably wet place; through the month of May you get the most rain around here, and January is when it's the driest.                  For the duration of the summertime here at Long Pond, high temperatures typically reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Long Pond. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Westfield River - North Branch, and Bofat Hill is pretty and can be seen from here. And that's not all you can do here at Long Pond. A splendid nearby hotel is Autumn Inn; Blandford is a glorious local ski area. If you desire a little side journey, try Indian Hollow, and if you came to camp Peppermint Park Camping Resort is a delightful place to do that. If you come at the right time of year, Swift River offers some brilliant whitewater, and you must positively dedicate some time to Fisk Meadow while you're here at Long Pond. This lake is so wonderful.
