Time spent at Winthrop Beach close to Lewis Lake is always delightful, and people from Boston-Cambridge-Quincy love to come here. A day at stunning Yirrell Beach in close proximity to Lewis Lake is a great thing to do; if you have the time, Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area is a national park worth checking out. This lake is so wonderful. There are some wonderful whitewater spots on Cohasset Tidal Rip, and Bradford is a good local ski area. Deer

throughout the summer are in the 80's, and the overnight is somewhat chillier of course, generally in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Lewis
Lake drop into the 10's. If you go for the outdoors, you'll love Lewis Lake. A splendid place next to Lewis Lake is Cherry Island Bar, and an afternoon playing golf at Bellevue Golf Club is always a bliss. While you're here at Lewis Lake you ought to visit Boston Harbor, and do explore Belle Isle Inlet if you're here at Lewis Lake.

Lake Cochichewick
 | 18 miles away Lake Cochichewick formerly known as Great Pond, is located near the inersections of rt 125 and Great Pond Road in North Andover MA. The lake is a little over 200 acres and long and narrow but widens quite a bit in the middle. The average depth near in the midde is about 40ft however the lake can reach depths of up to 60ft. The lake is a protected reservoir so fishing and boating are by town permit only. Swimming and gas moters are prohibited. Large and small mouth bass are in decent numbers as well as perch, pickerel, sunfish, also there is Northern Pike around but few have hooked up one in the summer season. Mercury level are fairly high so it is recomended to limit the consumption of fish to 1 meal a month. Most of the locals you will meet on the lake are all artificial bait, catch and release fisherman.... |
