Lake Warner is a wet place that gets a great deal of rainfall; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Gotta ski! Living Memorial Park is a wonderful place to do that, and you'll hit upon a picturesque lake called Great Pond. If you need a place to stay Comfort Inn Hadley is a glorious

               choice.
This lake is so wonderful. One of the best things about Lake Warner is its proximity to Sandy Beach, and Rainbow Motel is a glorious campground nearby. This pond is known by everyone as Puffer's pond and I've never heard it called this before. In the summer there are a lot of swimmers, but it makes good early morning fishing....

My Mother was born in Easthampton-Wanat house near pond-Williston Ave. I am a former member of citizens restoring Congamond. There used to be a lot of fish - but now only bluegills -Millfoil is one of invasive weeds in pond. Pond over years has a lot of garbage thrown in it-used to swim there- would not dare now especially where beach used to be....

There is a portage around the #2 dam which is about a mile or so below the Wilcox Hollow put in. The portage includes an 800 foot long carry and a scramble down a steep, rocky slope....

Barton Cove Campground
13 miles away
I have been going there for over 20 years. It is a great place to take a family and if you are lucky, you will get to see the bald eagles (I actually got to see their first flight)....Lovely campground with huge, clean wooded tent sites. Some sites overlook the Connecticut River, and a few offer access to a swimming or fishing beach. There are some high cliffs on the river side of the campground, partly blocked with post and rail fencing. Small children may not respect the fences, so that should be considered when families with kids choose their site. Overall very enjoyable, and I look forward to returning soon....

Bass Pond
15 miles away
The Springfield Paddle Club is a private swimming club with a beach on Bass Club.  The entrance is from South Branch Parkway.  We have a lovely beach and a floating dock about 20 yards from shore.  Consider joining us for wonderful swimming all summer long....
