Good hiking is available along the Sunrise Trail; there are plenty of people from Springfield here at Lake Pleasant. And if that's not enough, there's plenty more to do next to Lake Pleasant. Dry warm beds await you at Red Roof Inn South Deerfield. Lakes are glorious; Bowens Pond is a lake that's near Lake Pleasant. Don't leave Lake Pleasant without first going for a hike along the Sunset Trail, and why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like

| | Oakridge Golf Club. Whitewater paddling is fine on Deerfield River, and you acquire a glorious vista of Bare Hill from here. If you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Millers River - Lower, and you can hit the beach if you want, Horse Race is practically right here. Why not camp at Purple Meadow Campground while you're here at Lake Pleasant, and if you need a place to stay Quality Inn Greenfield is a good choice. All | |

through the warm months, highs ordinarily are in the 70's at Lake Pleasant, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. For the period of the winter the highs are commonly in the 20's, and after the sun is down throughout the
wintertime temperatures at Lake Pleasant sink into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. There's some flowing water nearby, Goddard Brook is a stream you can explore while you're here; what would winter be without some skiing at Living
Memorial Park. Lake Pleasant gets lots of water; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain while February is ordinarily the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. You're probably hooked on lakes, Green

Barton Cove Campground
 | I have been going there for over 20 years. It is a great place to take a family and if you are lucky, you will get to see the bald eagles (I actually got to see their first flight)....Lovely campground with huge, clean wooded tent sites. Some sites overlook the Connecticut River, and a few offer access to a swimming or fishing beach. There are some high cliffs on the river side of the campground, partly blocked with post and rail fencing. Small children may not respect the fences, so that should be considered when families with kids choose their site. Overall very enjoyable, and I look forward to returning soon.... |
Factory Hollow Pond
 | This pond is known by everyone as Puffer's pond and I've never heard it called this before. In the summer there are a lot of swimmers, but it makes good early morning fishing.... |

It's a rugged hike up Mine Ledge,and a quarter mile more to a spectacular seventy foot ledge dropoff. Great views to the south of the Connecticut River, meandering southward. This is one of my favorite places ever.... |
