Very stunning scenery and glorious skiing is what you get at Bradford; while you're here here do take a look at nearby Silver Lake Town Beach. Horn Pond sees pretty high levels of precipitation; most of the rain falls during November while August is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Float down the rapids of Charles River in a kayak, and Horn Pond is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Camp Cedar is a tremendous

| | local campground. You'll meet a lot of people from Boston-Cambridge-Quincy here, and a tour to Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area is worthwhile. You could also have a look at Cutters Pond while you're here at Horn Pond; it's nearby; do have a look at Aberjona River while you're here at Horn Pond. Lake Cochichewick
 | 12 miles away Lake Cochichewick formerly known as Great Pond, is located near the inersections of rt 125 and Great Pond Road in North Andover MA. The lake is a little over 200 acres and long and narrow but widens quite a bit in the middle. The average depth near in the midde is about 40ft however the lake can reach depths of up to 60ft. The lake is a protected reservoir so fishing and boating are by town permit only. Swimming and gas moters are prohibited. Large and small mouth bass are in decent numbers as well as perch, pickerel, sunfish, also there is Northern Pike around but few have hooked up one in the summer season. Mercury level are fairly high so it is recomended to limit the consumption of fish to 1 meal a month. Most of the locals you will meet on the lake are all artificial bait, catch and release fisherman.... |
