    If you are traveling by, why not stop by Horn Pond. Cushman Brook is a pretty stream that is worth stopping at; a magnificent nearby hotel is Pilgrim Inn. Blandford is a very popular ski area in the vicinity, and camping at Bonny Rigg Camping Club is always a pleasant experience. But wait, there's more to do near Horn Pond. The vista of Mount Gobble from Horn Pond is beautiful; you can hit the slopes at Otis Ridge in the neighborhood.
Horn Pond gets a
 
   lot of water; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. Just can't get enough of Horn Pond. If you're going to Horn Pond from Pittsfield, you won't be the only one. This lake is so wonderful. Very perfect water scenery is available at Indian Lake Dam near Horn Pond, and if you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Walker Brook.

               Becket State Forest is a good local forest, and perfect hiking is available along the Richard Trail. While you're here at Horn Pond, you could also visit striking Excalibur Lake, and a magnificent site to camp here at Horn Pond is Walker Island Camping. If you need a place to stay Lee Super 8 Motel is a good choice, and don't leave Horn Pond without first going for a hike along the Spring Trail.
Through the warmest time of the year at Horn Pond temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 30's; overnight lows at Horn Pond during the winter mostly sink into the 10's. Westfield River - West Branch is a magnificent whitewater spot close to Horn Pond, and there's delightful hiking along the County Road Trail.
