Baker Pond is a lake nearby. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Higgins Pond has to offer, you can camp at Sweetwater Forest Camping Resort. Cape Cod National Seashore is one of the destinations near Higgins Pond that are glorious to go to; swamps like Little Namskaket River Marshes near Higgins Pond make for delightful spots to go to. Higgins Pond gets a good deal of water; during November this       area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is July. This is no site for people who don’t like to have fun. Higgins Pond is right by the Red Maple Swamp Trail, and you're perhaps addicted to lakes, Little Cliff Pond is one of those close by. If you go for the outdoors, you'll like Higgins Pond. Hiking along the Fort Hill Trail is tremendous fun. Dry warm beds await you at Olde Tavern Motel and Inn, and time spent at Crosby Landing Beach is                  always nice. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Skaket Beach Motel is a good spot to spend a night or two; you can stay the night at Idle Time Rv Park & Campground. If you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Captain's Golf Course the is around here, and Grassy Nook can be spotted from Higgins Pond. At Higgins Pond all through the summer highs are in the 70's with overnight lows in the 60's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Higgins Pond temperatures sink to the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Namskaket Creek is a great local stream; Higgins Pond is a place with many visitors from Barnstable Town.
