at Hawkes Pond Outlet Dam is pretty. This lake is so wonderful. You'll hit upon a stunning lake called Prankers Pond near Hawkes Pond, and if you need a location to stay Holiday Inn Express SAUGUS (LOGAN AIRPORT) is a splendid choice.
And if that's not enough, there's a heap more to do near Hawkes Pond. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Blue Hills is in the neighborhood of Hawkes Pond. This lake is so wonderful. A great place to camp here at Hawkes Pond is Prospect
Lake Park; at Hawkes Pond you can catch a sight of Castle Hill. Throughout the warmest time of the year at Hawkes Pond temperatures are regularly in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into
the 60's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Hawkes Pond. The high level of rain makes Hawkes Pond a relatively wet spot; most of the rain falls throughout November, and August is when it's the driest.

Lake Cochichewick
 | 11 miles away Lake Cochichewick formerly known as Great Pond, is located near the inersections of rt 125 and Great Pond Road in North Andover MA. The lake is a little over 200 acres and long and narrow but widens quite a bit in the middle. The average depth near in the midde is about 40ft however the lake can reach depths of up to 60ft. The lake is a protected reservoir so fishing and boating are by town permit only. Swimming and gas moters are prohibited. Large and small mouth bass are in decent numbers as well as perch, pickerel, sunfish, also there is Northern Pike around but few have hooked up one in the summer season. Mercury level are fairly high so it is recomended to limit the consumption of fish to 1 meal a month. Most of the locals you will meet on the lake are all artificial bait, catch and release fisherman.... |
