while you're here at Hale Pond, and there are some wonderful whitewater spots on Farmington River - West Branch. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Hale Pond has to offer, you can camp at Camp Overflow; why not
head up to Ski Butternut and strap some skis to your feet. Good hiking is available along the Wild Cat Trail. There's so much to do here at Hale Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Maple Glade Campground is a glorious place
for that. Tyringham Valley is a magnificent spot to discover, and for you golfers we recommend close by Greenock Country Club. The Brickhouse Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best; since you're here you will meet lots of folks
from nearby Pittsfield. The high level of precipitation makes Hale Pond a pretty wet place; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. Hale Pond
is not the only place nearby, Mud Pond is a nearby lake, and one of the governing highlights of the surroundings of Hale Pond is Baldy Mountain.
