McIntyre is a magnificent local ski area, and Flint Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Tyngsboro Campground is a great local campground. Flint Pond sees pretty high levels of rain; during November this area sees the most rain; the driest month of the year is September. Yep, outdoors enjoyable stuff to do are really plentiful here at Flint Pond. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can go to Upper Flint Pond Dam, and after a long day

| | outdoors Radisson Hotel Nashua is a splendid place to spend a night or two. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Flint Pond with overnight lows in the 50's. All through the winter highs are commonly in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Flint Pond.

Bridge Meadow Brook; for you golfers we recommend nearby Nabnasset Lake Country Club. This lake is so wonderful. Get your heart pumping on the wonderful whitewater of Assabet River, and Upper Flint Pond is a nearby lake that you could
pop by. There's whitewater on Concord River for all you adrenaline people, and a lake close by is Uptons Pond.

Locust Pond

Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
