Camping is available at Field and Stream Travel Trailer Park, and dry warm beds await you at Four Points By Sheraton Leominster. Wachusett Mountain is a very popular ski area around here, and if the weather is tremendous, you can go for a hike along the Wapack Trail. Not far from Flat Pond you obtain some magnificent water scenery at Townsend Harbor Dam; if you've had enough of Flat Pond, Harbor Pond is close by. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here

| | at Flat Pond you can take a hike along the Old Country Road, and if you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Townsend Ridge Country Club is in the neighborhood. So many enjoyable things to do here at Flat Pond, too glorious to be true. Why not camp at Field & Stream Travel Trailer since you're here at Flat Pond; Kezar Hill is clearly visible from Flat Pond. in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's while Flat Pond night low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. You're sure to encounter some good folks
from Manchester-Nashua here, and after a long day outdoors SpringHill Suites Devens Common Center is a great place to spend a night or two. Have a wonderful hiking adventure along the Mitchell Hill Road, and why not a little side
tour to Nutting Stream. Yeah, come here to Flat Pond for a tremendous time. Flat Pond sees pretty high levels of precipitation; November is the month that gets the most rain, and September is when it's the driest. Flat Pond is
not the only location close by, Coon Tree Pond is a close by lake, and Souhegan River has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot close by.

Locust Pond
 | 15 miles away 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
