If you're here at Firestone Pond, do take a spree to Battleship Cove, and if you want to hit the beach, Pierce Beach is close at hand. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Somerset/Fall River Area is a good spot to spend a night or two, and you're sure to run into some fine folks from Providence-New Bedford-Fall River here. This lake is so wonderful. You could also stop at Cook Pond if you're here at Firestone Pond; it's close by. There's so much to do here

Firestone Pond usually gets a lot of rain; the month with most of the rain is November while July is mostly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. If you want a little side visit, try Borden Flats, and Firestone Pond is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Forge Pond Campground is a splendid local campground. I have been fishing this lake for 45 years and it still produces some real fine fish....Echo is a nice pond. I go all the time and always catch something. The biggest i caught was a 6.5 pound large mouth on a watermelon colored lizard. Good place for bass....Pond is mostly made up of kivers and mabey a few striped bass nothing orn thsn 2.5 pounds.
