| | the 80's, and the nighttime is a bit cooler of course, usually in the 60's. Throughout the winter the highs are ordinarily in the 30's while Ellis Ponds overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's.
This lake is so wonderful. A magnificent spot for whitewater paddling next to Ellis Ponds is Cohasset Tidal Rip. A good deal of rain falls at Ellis Ponds; November is when you get the most rain here while June is regularly the driest month. | |

One of the best things about Ellis Ponds is its proximity to Stephens Field Beach, and Ellis Haven Family Campground is a good local campground.
Not far from Ellis Ponds you get some glorious water scenery at Eight Acre Reservoir
Dam, and Pinewood Lodge Campgrounds is a wonderful campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Ellis Ponds you can play some golf at Southers Marsh Golf Club, and you're probably interested in lakes, Colbys
Pond is one of those close by. A day at Nelson Beach right next door to Ellis Ponds is time well spent, and Comfort Inn Plymouth is a nice location to get some rest.

Ellis Haven Family Campground
 | Ellis Haven was my summer vacation every year from 1957 to 1967. I'm 58 years old now and my best memories are of Ellis Haven. Looks like it's still a beautiful place to take a vacation....I have been going to Ellis Haven for 50 years. It is definately one of my favorite campgrounds. It is very family oriented and extremely clean. The pond is fabulous for swimming and great for fishing too.... |
Widgeon Pond
 | I was interested in a rental on Widgeon Pond. I stayed there many years ago and loved it....I have a cottage on Widgeon Pond. Nice, quiet and relaxing pond with reasonable fishing. Swimming is nice but sometimes the water is really high, almost to the extent where there is no beach at all. Some people have small parties or gatherings, but there aren't any loud parties. Very calming place to chill out.... |

Sandy Pond Campground
| It's a cool campground to go to but if you like to stay out late stay away because they come around at like ten and make everyone go bad to their own camp sites and you can't stay at that play ground. And if you don't go back to your campsite when they make their second rounds the rangers chase you on golf carts. Which is pretty fun because you have to out run them. But everything else is pretty chill.... |
