Not far from East Indies Pond, you'll hit upon Mill Pond which is a pretty lake; the slopes of Ski Butternut are so inviting noone can resist. Dry warm beds await you at Americas Best Value Inn Lee. Holleran Swamp is a swamp near East Indies Pond. There's so much to do here at East Indies Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Cold Spring Campground is a good spot for that. This lake is so wonderful. There are other places here than East Indies Pond,

| | for example Windemere Lake Reservoir, and Blackberry River Inn is a perfect place to get some rest. Not far from East Indies Pond you get some fine water scenery at Windemere Lake Dam. You'll need more than a day to look at everything East Indies Pond has to offer, you can camp at Lone Oak Camp Sites. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Farmington River - West Branch offers some wonderful whitewater; you get a nice view of Brown Mountain | |

from here. This spot is so good, just look at all the fun stuff to do right next door to East Indies Pond. Take a side spree to Cherry Brook; you'll meet a lot of folks from Torrington here. Gotta ski! Mohawk Mountain is a glorious
site to do that, and you can go for a hike on the Indian Trail. Any time is a nice time at East Indies Pond if you fancy the outdoors. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Sandy Brook River, and going for a hike on the Elbow Trail is
always a delightful adventure. Near East Indies Pond you discover the Wild Cat Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail, and there's a forest here called Cookson State Forest. The high level of rain makes East Indies Pond a rather
wet spot; August is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is February. Summertime at East Indies Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Throughout
the wintertime the highs are generally in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to East Indies Pond.
