Swamps don’t sound that pleasant but Blackfish Creek Marshes in the neighborhood of Duck Pond is rather pleasant, and a lake nearby is Gull Pond. The high level of rainfall makes Duck Pond a reasonably wet place; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month of the year is July. This lake is so wonderful. Paine's Campground is a pleasant campground nearby, and a brilliant beach close by is Cahoon Hollow Beach.

hiking trail next to Duck Pond called the Pamet Cranberry Bog Trail, and if you're visiting from Barnstable Town, you won't be the only one.
