... to global warming and obviously the fact that we will eventually outgrow our environment. I suggest rebuilding ontop of old houses if you have the money to build a new house at all otherwise, renovate.I also wish to somehow reduce population which is nearly impossible to do all over the world, china has a good system for that (though a little strict its neccessary you only need two at the most anyway more than that is just rediculous) in building, we need roads, well when it rains the roads and the houses prevent the acidic rain from penetrating and filtering throughout the peat and other minerals in the ground. This filtration helps maintain proper ph (affects fish immensely) and filter sediment out (which hinders the gills of fish)not to mention aids in producing topsoil. so the acid rain is now draining in ditches and along the road into ... sadawga, harriman res., and any other local streams which WILL go to larger bodys of water affecting the fish in numerous ways. I'm just a local catch and release fisherman who has left home to make a difference at home and around the world. ...

My Mother was born in Easthampton-Wanat house near pond-Williston Ave. I am a former member of citizens restoring Congamond. There used to be a lot of fish - but now only bluegills -Millfoil is one of invasive weeds in pond. Pond over years has a lot of garbage thrown in it-used to swim there- would not dare now especially where beach used to be....

Barton Cove Campground
17 miles away
I have been going there for over 20 years. It is a great place to take a family and if you are lucky, you will get to see the bald eagles (I actually got to see their first flight)....Lovely campground with huge, clean wooded tent sites. Some sites overlook the Connecticut River, and a few offer access to a swimming or fishing beach. There are some high cliffs on the river side of the campground, partly blocked with post and rail fencing. Small children may not respect the fences, so that should be considered when families with kids choose their site. Overall very enjoyable, and I look forward to returning soon....

If you go to Indian Pond in June, your likely to see it surrounded by the pink flowers of Mountain Laurel. It's very pretty. Mine Ledge to the West and East Hill to the East. It's a rugged hike up Mine Ledge, and a quarter mile more to a spectacular seventy foot ledge dropoff. Great views to the south of the Connecticut River, meandering southward. This is one of my favorite places ever....

Stratton is less than three hours from Boston, four from New York City, and offers a big mountain resort experience close to home.

Named one of the 'Top 10 No Car Needed Resort' by On the Snow, everything at Stratton is right at your doorstep; from inspiring terrain, fine dining and shopping, a Spa, Sports Center, tubing and snowshoeing. Activities aplenty to keep thrill seekers and vacationers happy for days on end.

And while many a mountain touts great snow, Stratton guarantees it. Go out for an hour, any time, any day and if you are not thrilled, we'll give you a ticket for another day. That's confidence backed up by a snowmaking system (covering 95 percent of Stratton's terrain) so powerful it can bury a football field in three feet of snow in just one hour and what we call Gold Medal Grooming. You'll call it vivacious. ...
