What a place this is for outdoors folks. All through the warm months, highs ordinarily are in the 70's at Dead Pond with nighttime lows in the 50's. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Wachusett Mountain is close to Dead Pond; hey, Bayberry Hill Brook is a great local stream. While you're here at Dead Pond you can take a hike along the Mitchell Hill Road, and why not explore Bixby Reservoir Dam while you're here. After a long day outdoors Four Points By Sheraton Leominster is a brilliant spot to spend a night or two; a brilliant spot to camp here at Dead Pond is Pine Campgrounds. Not far from Dead Pond, you'll stumble on Bixby Reservoir
which is a beautiful lake, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Wapack Trail. Dead Pond gets much water; November is when you get the most rain here; the driest of the months is September. Whitewater paddling is delightful
on Souhegan River, and dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel - Leominster/Fitchburg Area. This lake is so wonderful. If you're a golfer then a great close by course is Townsend Ridge Country Club, and there is a brilliant hiking trail close by called the Old Country Road.
