Silver Lake Town Beach is near Cutters Pond and is a delightful beach to go to; there are other sites here than Cutters Pond, for example Horn Pond. This is a popular spot for people from Boston-Cambridge-Quincy, and if you're looking for a brilliant journey, Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area is reasonably near. Glide down the rapids of Charles River in a kayak, and there's a good forest called Brooks-Parkhurst Town Forest. You get a wonderful panorama

and hit Concord River, and a good location to camp here at Cutters Pond is Camp Cedar. And that's not all you can do here at Cutters Pond. Aberjona River is a stream that you may encounter while you're here; the slopes of Bradford
are so inviting noone can resist. For the period of the summer highs here at Cutters Pond get into the 80's while nighttime lows are regularly in the 60's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 30's; nighttime lows in

Lake Cochichewick
 | 12 miles away Lake Cochichewick formerly known as Great Pond, is located near the inersections of rt 125 and Great Pond Road in North Andover MA. The lake is a little over 200 acres and long and narrow but widens quite a bit in the middle. The average depth near in the midde is about 40ft however the lake can reach depths of up to 60ft. The lake is a protected reservoir so fishing and boating are by town permit only. Swimming and gas moters are prohibited. Large and small mouth bass are in decent numbers as well as perch, pickerel, sunfish, also there is Northern Pike around but few have hooked up one in the summer season. Mercury level are fairly high so it is recomended to limit the consumption of fish to 1 meal a month. Most of the locals you will meet on the lake are all artificial bait, catch and release fisherman.... |
