Bradford has good slopes and a friendly staff, and after a long day outdoors Sheraton Ferncroft Hotel is a pleasant location to spend a night or two. Crooked Pond is in the vicinity of Howes Pond Dam which is a wonderful place certainly worth going to; Blue Hills is a very       popular ski area in close proximity. Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area is a great site in close proximity to Crooked Pond; some great nature is available in Boxford State Forest. For the duration of the days of summer highs here at Crooked Pond get into the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's with temperatures at Crooked Pond dipping                  down into the 10's during winter nights. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Crooked Pond has to offer, you can camp at Lorraine Park Campground, and Bald Hill is clearly visible from Crooked Pond. Crooked Pond is a wet place that gets a good deal of precipitation; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain; the driest month is August. This lake is so wonderful. A golf course next to Crooked Pond is Far Corner Golf Course, and you'll in all probability meet some folks from Boston-Cambridge-Quincy here. But wait, there's more to do in the neighborhood of Crooked Pond. If you like swamps, you're in luck, Orne Swamp is right nearby, and if you're here, you could pop by Boston Brook. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn North Shore; Fish Brook Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could visit.
