    Why not stop by Cook Pond if you're passing through these parts. This lake is so wonderful. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Wachusett Mountain; there is a good hiking trail close by called the White Dot Trail. Camping at Lamb City Campground & Variety is always a magnificent experience; there's whitewater on Millers River for all you adrenaline people. You get a brilliant sight of Burnshirt Hills from Cook Pond; Cook Pond is  
   perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Peaceful Pines is a perfect local campground.
Just can't get enough of Cook Pond. Going for a hike on the Red Cross Trail is always a perfect adventure; an out of the ordinary thing to visit in close proximity to Cook Pond is Partridgeville Pond Dam. The Harling Trail is a good hiking trail next to Cook Pond, and Gardner Super 8 Motel is a splendid place to get some rest. So many entertaining things to do at
 
               Cook Pond, so little time. The landscape around Cook Pond is dominated by the Burnshirt Hills, and golf can be played at Templewood Golf Course.
You can run the rapids of Contoocook River close to Cook Pond, and folks from Worcester love to come here. Hubbardston State Forest is a forest near Cook Pond that you can go to, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out nearby Perley Brook Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Colonial Hotel is a brilliant place to spend a night or two, and you can hit the slopes at Pine Ridge around here.
Throughout the summertime highs here at Cook Pond reach the 80's; the overnight is a bit colder of course, usually in the 50's. Highs throughout the winter are ordinarily in the 30's; nighttime lows throughout the winter for Cook Pond tend to be in the 0's. The high level of rainfall makes Cook Pond a pretty wet location; most of the rain falls through August, and the driest month is February.
