A splendid close by hotel is Quality Inn & Suites, and there are some perfect whitewater spots on Farmington River. Lakes? Sure, Colebrook River Lake is close at hand; hey, Gotta ski right? Otis Ridge is a good place to do that. If you're here at Colebrook River Lake, you could have a look at Howells Brook, and this is a popular place for folks from Torrington. This lake is so wonderful. There's a forest here at Colebrook River Lake called Algonquin State

| | Forest, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Still River. Camping is available at White Pines Campground, and on a fine day you can take a hike along the Richard Trail. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Ski Sundown, and if you're here you can take a hike along the County Road Trail. Through the summertime months at Colebrook River Lake highs are mostly in the 80's. Hill is delightful. All the water falling down from the sky makes Colebrook River Lake a wet site; most of the rain falls through August, and the driest month is January.
