Otis Ridge is a very popular ski area close at hand, and don't leave Center Pond without first going for a hike along the Richard Trail. Through the summer months at Center Pond temperatures are frequently in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Center Pond. Center Pond       is a wet place that gets a large amount of rain; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest of the months is January. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Blandford, and do have a look at Chimney Corners Pond, it's a pretty lake. Camp Overflow is a glorious campground here, and if you need a place to stay Becket Motel is a good choice. A nice place for whitewater paddling in the vicinity of Center Pond is                  Farmington River - West Branch; why not visit Center Pond Dam while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Westfield River - West Branch near Center Pond, and there are magnificent sites to explore along the Spring Trail. Just can't get enough of Center Pond. The sight of picturesque Benton Hill near Center Pond is tremendous, and you can go for a hike on the Wild Cat Trail. Why not explore close by Depot Brook since you're here at Center Pond, and if you came for an overnight stay Summit Hill Campground is a splendid place to camp. You'll meet a lot of people from Pittsfield here; Knox Trail Inn is a great spot to get some rest.
