An attention-grabbing thing to check out in the vicinity of Center Pond is Byron Weston Dam. Anthony Brook flows through this area; since you're here you can take a hike along the Circle Trail. Craneville School is clearly visible from Center Pond, and since you're here, you could also check out beautiful Little Egypt Reservoir. Whitewater paddling is perfect on Green River, and going for a hike along the Cheshire Harbor Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. Center Pond is a delightful place to visit for more than one day, Fernwood Forest Campground is a delightful place to camp nearby, and paddling on Westfield River - West Branch is so much fun. For the period of the warm days of summer at Center Pond highs are generally                  in the 70's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Center Pond descend into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. The skiing at Catamount is good; a round of golf at nearby Wahconah Country Club is a pleasant way to kill some time. A typical amount of precipitation falls here at Center Pond; August is when you get the most rain here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. If you're visiting Center Pond from Pittsfield, you won't be the only one; if you need a location to stay Americas Best Value Inn New Ashford is a tremendous choice. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Camp Taconic, and you'll hit upon a pretty lake called East Branch Housatonic River Reservoir. And if that's not sufficient, there's heaps more to do next to Center Pond.
