There are magnificent places to look at along the Walkabout Trail; there's some flowing water nearby, Cohasse Brook is a stream you can take a look at while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Munyan Trail is always a fine adventure, and get soaked paddling on Quaboag River. There are plenty of folks from Willimantic here at Carpenter Pond; if you came to camp       Charlton Applewood Campgrounds is a fine site to do that. Carpenter Pond is a wet site that gets lots of precipitation; November is when you get the most rain here; February is when it's the driest. Float down the rapids of Natchaug River in a kayak, and there are other spots here than Carpenter Pond, for example Lensdale Pond. This lake is so wonderful. If you haven’t been to Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor, you ought to schedule                  some time for it if you're here, and if you need a location to stay Passport Inn - Sturbridge is a splendid choice. A great nearby hotel is Comfort Inn & Suites Colonial, and if you're here and you like golf, you can stop by Royal Oaks Country Club. Camping at Yogi Bear's Sturbridge Jellystone Park is always a delightful experience, and a good beach close by is Woodstock Town Beach. So much entertaining stuff to do at Carpenter Pond, so little time. Near Carpenter Pond you find the Border Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail, and there's some exciting stuff to spot at Russell Harrington Mill Pond Dam in the neighborhood of Carpenter Pond. Just can't get enough of Carpenter Pond. Skiing at Pine Ridge is one of those things you just must do, and not far from Carpenter Pond you'll hit upon Quinebaug River Reservoir which is a beautiful lake. For the period of the warm days of summer highs here at Carpenter Pond get into the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's.
