There's just no way someone can get bored here at Carpenter Pond. After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn & Suites Colonial is a delightful spot to spend a night or two, and Charlton Applewood Campgrounds is a perfect campground nearby. Hit the slopes at Pine Ridge around here, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Border Trail. Throughout the warmest time of the       year at Carpenter Pond temperatures are generally in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Carpenter Pond descend into the 10's. Be careful coming to Carpenter Pond, you might not ever want to go back home again. Russell Harrington Mill Pond Dam is not far at all from Carpenter Pond, and some of the water close by flows, like Cohasse Brook. This lake                  is so wonderful. If time allows, Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is a national park worth going to; there are other places here than Carpenter Pond, for example Quinebaug River Reservoir. Golf can be played at Royal Oaks Country Club, and Woodstock Town Beach is reasonably nearby if you're in a beach type of mood. The high level of rainfall makes Carpenter Pond a rather wet location; November is when you get the most rain here, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Quaboag River offers some glorious whitewater, and Lensdale Pond is a great lake nearby. Hiking along the Walkabout Trail is magnificent fun, and you can stay the night at Yogi Bear's Sturbridge Jellystone Park.
