If you need a place to stay Best Western At Historic Concord is a fine choice, and Bellows Hill is clearly visible from Buttrick Pond. While you're here at Buttrick Pond you will meet lots of folks from nearby Boston-Cambridge-Quincy, and you don’t have to go far from Buttrick Pond to catch a glimpse of the water at Batemans Pond Dam. had enough of Buttrick Pond, Hutchins Pond is nearby. A wonderful nearby hotel is Concord s Colonial Inn, naturally you could also go to Batemans Pond if you're here; it's not far at all. Summertime at Buttrick Pond comes with
high temperatures in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Buttrick Pond are in the 0's.
Now, you may believe that's a load but there's even more cool stuff to do here at Buttrick Pond. Whitewater paddling is glorious on Assabet River, and if you came to camp Star Camps is a pleasant spot to do that. Buttrick Pond is
a relatively wet place typically with lots of rain; most of the rain falls throughout November; the driest month of the year is February.

Locust Pond
 | 10 miles away 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
