Silver Lake Town Beach is near Butterfield Pond if you're in a beach type of mood, and don't forget to take a magnificent little spree to Long Meadow Brook. Staybridge Suites Boston-Burlington, Ma is a great place to get some rest, and there are swamps here too, Chandler Swamp is in the vicinity. The warmest time of the year at Butterfield Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's while night  
   lows are regularly in the 60's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 30's while Butterfield Pond overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 10's.
This lake is so wonderful. A lake nearby is Granny Pond, and Babylon Hill can be observed from Butterfield Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Concord River; a nice forest close by is Willard Woods. This spot rocks, just look at all
 
               the cool stuff to do in the vicinity of Butterfield Pond. If time allows, Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area is a national park worth visiting, and the slopes of Blue Hills are so inviting nobody can resist.
So much cool stuff to do at Butterfield Pond, so little time. If you came to camp Camp Micah is a great location to do that, and there are some good whitewater spots on Charles River. You're sure to encounter some fine folks from Boston-Cambridge-Quincy here, and hey, Gotta ski right? Bradford is a good spot to do that. If you need a place to stay Hilton Garden Inn Boston/Burlington is a pleasant choice, and Butterfield Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Camp Cedar is a great local campground.
Parker Meadow is a great place. All the water falling down from the sky makes Butterfield Pond a wet place; the wettest month of the year is frequently November, that's the one that rains the most, and February on the other hand is the driest. You could also pop by Horn Pond since you're here at Butterfield Pond; it's nearby, and enjoy a round of golf at Lexington Golf Club.

Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats....
