This place, Blood Pond, it definitely has so much outdoors exciting stuff. There are some brilliant whitewater spots on Quinebaug River; there are delightful sites to look at along the Munyan Trail. Shepherd Pond is a nice lake near Blood Pond, and why not have a look at Gore Pond Dam if you're here. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Blood Pond you will meet lots of folks from       nearby Willimantic, and there's whitewater on Natchaug River for all you adrenaline junkies. Blood Pond sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain while February is mostly the driest month. Woodstock Town Beach is in the vicinity of Blood Pond if you're in a beach type of mood; going for a hike on the Border Trail is always a wonderful adventure. A golf course next to Blood Pond is Royal Oaks Country Club,                  and Comfort Inn & Suites Colonial is a great site to get some rest. For the duration of the months of summer at Blood Pond temperatures are generally in the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are frequently in the 30's with temperatures at Blood Pond dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights. What would winter be without some skiing at Pine Ridge; Charlton Applewood Campgrounds is a good campground nearby. If you need a place to stay The Inn at Woodstock Hill is a wonderful choice, and don't leave Blood Pond without first going for a hike along the Walkabout Trail. Yeah, come here to Blood Pond for a great time. The sight of charming Blood Hill near Blood Pond is delightful, and there are other places here than Blood Pond, for example Baker Pond. This lake is so wonderful.
