The top of Spragues Hill is easily spotted from Blood Pond, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Blue Hills. Just can't get enough of Blood Pond. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites MIDDLEBORO RAYNHAM, and if you have the time, Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area is a national park worth going to. Blood Pond is a reasonably wet place usually with a lot of precipitation; November is the month that gets the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. An afternoon playing golf at Ridder Golf Course is always a pleasure, and if you came to camp Plymouth Rock Koa Kampground is a tremendous place to do that. in the 80's while nighttime lows are regularly in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Blood Pond dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights. There's so much to do here
at Blood Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Robins Pond Camp Ground is a pleasant place for that; Fairfield Inn Plymouth Middleboro is a splendid place to get some rest.

 | 16 miles away Ellis Haven was my summer vacation every year from 1957 to 1967. I'm 58 years old now and my best memories are of Ellis Haven. Looks like it's still a beautiful place to take a vacation....I have been going to Ellis Haven for 50 years. It is definately one of my favorite campgrounds. It is very family oriented and extremely clean. The pond is fabulous for swimming and great for fishing too.... |
Widgeon Pond
 | 18 miles away I was interested in a rental on Widgeon Pond. I stayed there many years ago and loved it....I have a cottage on Widgeon Pond. Nice, quiet and relaxing pond with reasonable fishing. Swimming is nice but sometimes the water is really high, almost to the extent where there is no beach at all. Some people have small parties or gatherings, but there aren't any loud parties. Very calming place to chill out.... |
