The view of Great Moose Hill from Black Brook Reservoir is charming, and camping at Beartown State Forest is always a good experience. Good hiking is available along the Link Trail, and after a long day outdoors Elm Motel is a magnificent location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. There are some great whitewater spots on Westfield River, and there's glorious hiking       along the County Road Trail. Gotta ski! Otis Ridge is a good location to do that; you're almost certainly addicted to lakes, Cochran Pond is one of those close by. All the water falling down from the sky makes Black Brook Reservoir a wet place; the wettest month of the year is regularly August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is January. Having a good time at Black Brook Reservoir is trouble-free. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone                  but if it's for you then we recommend Westfield River - North Branch, and if you came to camp Laurel Ridge Camping Area is a glorious place to do that. Through the months of summer at Black Brook Reservoir temperatures are mostly in the 80's while overnight lows are usually in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Black Brook Reservoir descend into the 0's. Not far from Black Brook Reservoir you obtain some good water scenery at Black Brook Dam, and the slopes of Blandford are so inviting nobody can resist. Don't forget to take a wonderful little tour to Black Brook; probably you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Russell Reservoir is just a very short distance away.
