The beauty of Berkshire Pond is reason enough to stop by. Mount Greylock Ski Club has great slopes and a friendly staff; if you get bored of Berkshire Pond you could also have a look at close by East Branch Housatonic River Reservoir. Do check out Government Mill Dam if you're here at Berkshire Pond, and Berkshire Pond is not the only site close by, Anthony Pond is a close by lake. There's so much to do here at Berkshire Pond that you need to camp here for a while,

| | Hidden Valley Campgrounds is a delightful site for that, and a great close by hotel is Pittsfield Travelodge. Konkapot Brook is a great whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Berkshire Pond. The amount of rain that falls at Berkshire Pond is close to the national average; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. and if you're here, you might as well stop by The Gulf. This lake is so wonderful. Berkshire Pond is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Bonnie Brae Cabins and Campsites is a perfect local campground; hiking along the
Circle Trail is glorious fun. Having a good time at Berkshire Pond is trouble-free. Skyline Country Club is a brilliant golf course close by, and do take a hike on the Deer Hill Trail. Crowne Plaza Hotel Pittsfield, Massachusetts
is a great place to get some rest; there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Catamount. Why not visit close by Gore Brook while you're here at Berkshire Pond; the fine people of Pittsfield like to hang out nearby.
For the duration of the warm days of summer highs here at Berkshire Pond reach the 70's, and the overnight is rather colder of course, mostly in the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 20's with winter lows in the 10's overnight
here at Berkshire Pond. All the outdoors amusing things in close proximity to Berkshire Pond will keep you coming back time and again. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Cheshire Harbor Trail; the peak of The Boulders can be made out from Berkshire Pond.

Walker Island Camping
 | 18 miles away The staff at Walker Island was very friendly. There were many faucets located near campsites, and an outhouse, and an outlet in some sites. Our sites were located by the brook which on the other side is a busy road that large trucks occasionally rumble by. The pool was 5ft deep, compared to the 'small beach' which is literally a pile of sand plopped by the brook. No swimming in this beach. The arrow pointing to the spring is really a spring hung on a tree. Not so funny when your vacation hopes were to swim in some natural waters. Hiking may be difficult to find ask for directions.... |
