There's whitewater on Contoocook River for all you adrenaline junkies, and the peak of Birch Hill can be seen from Bedman Pond. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Millers River; the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Pine Ridge. This lake is so wonderful. in the vicinity of Bedman Pond you'll discover a wooded neighborhood called Otter River State Forest, and there is a good hiking trail close by called the Harling Trail.
