In Massachusetts there are many beautiful lakes, Becker Pond is one of them. Becker Pond is near Sages Ravine which is absolutely worth visiting, and here at Becker Pond you can observe Bear Mountain. Dry warm beds await you at Sharon Motor Lodge; don't leave Becker Pond without first going for a hike along the Indian Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Put some time aside to spend at Bear Rock Falls if you're here at Becker Pond, and skiing at Catamount is one of

| | those things you just must do. This lake is so wonderful. High temperatures at Becker Pond throughout the warmest time of the year are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Becker Pond. Becker Pond gets a typical amount of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is May, and February meanwhile is the driest month. | |

There's great hiking along the Elbow Trail, and playing golf is lots of fun at Undermountain Golf Course. And if you're still looking for more outdoors amusing stuff just keep reading. If you came to camp Taconic State Park Rudd Pond
is a perfect place to do that, and do go to Guilder Brook while you're here at Becker Pond. Garret Dam is charming and it's in close proximity to Becker Pond; paddling on Housatonic River is so much fun. And if that's not sufficient,
there's loads more to do near Becker Pond. There's so much to do here at Becker Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Taconic State Park Copake Falls is a great site for that; lots of people from Hudson come here. This lake
is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is fine on Bash Bish Brook, and great hiking is available along the Northrop Trail. A lake close by is Lee Pond, and fine skiing awaits you at Ski Butternut. If you need a place to stay Great
Barrington Days Inn is a great choice, of course you could also have a look at Lee Pond Brook Reservoir since you're here; it's not far at all.

Hilltop Pond
 | 13 miles away Hilltop Pond is a beautiful private pond. It's owned by the home owner on the top of the hill to the west and other adjoining land owners have pond rights. It's quite shallow, so it will always be in need of constant cleaning. The 42 acre pond is home to loads of wildlife and is the prime souce of water flowing into Macedonia State Park.
An interesting fact: The dam, rebuilt in the early 90's is made up of concrete blocks, each weighing over a ton. Environmental regulations wouldn't allow pouring cement into forms, so the large number of blocks were layed in place, held in place only by their individaul mass.
Jimmy Walker, the mayor of NYC would visit Hilltop Lodge, with his buddies. Hilltop Lodge was located on the west side of Weber Road where the road takes a bend well above about mid point in the length of the pond. The lodge burned to the ground in the 50's. There was no structure on the property from then until 1984, when the home to the north was constructed.... |
