Going for a hike on the White Arrow Trail is always a glorious adventure, and dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Gardner. An average amount of rainfall falls at Bates Powers Reservoir; most of the rain falls during August, and the driest of the months is February. But wait, there's more to do close to Bates Powers Reservoir. Nearby lakes?  
   Sure, Reservoir Number Two is near Bates Powers Reservoir, and wonderful hiking is available along the Red Cross Trail.

If you come at the right time of year, Millers River offers some splendid whitewater, and don't miss out on a great swamp; Thousand Acre Swamp is right here at Bates Powers Reservoir. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Wachusett Mountain, and there are some nice whitewater spots on Ashuelot River - South Branch.
Through the summertime months at Bates Powers Reservoir highs are commonly in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's; through the dark hours in the wintertime at Bates Powers Reservoir temperatures descend to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. You could also check out Phillipston Reservoir since you're here at Bates Powers Reservoir; it's nearby, and you can go for a hike on the Marlboro Trail.
