If you like lakes and you're in this part of Massachusetts you can check out Bass Pond. Bass Pond gets a great deal of water; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Bass Pond has to offer, you can camp at Del-aire Camping Resort; a good nearby hotel is National House.
High temperatures at Bass Pond through the long summer days are in the 80's.

| | Summer night lows fall down to the 50's. All through the winter highs are regularly in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Bass Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Sun Valley Camping Cooperative, and if you need a location to stay Howard Johnson Express is a magnificent choice. At Bass Pond you always meet someone from Springfield, and there's whitewater on Farmington River for all you adrenaline junkies.

do near Bass Pond. Schnelock Brook is a great local stream; Breckwood Lake is a great lake close by. There's some exciting stuff to see at Mill Pond Dam near Bass Pond, and on a lovely day you obtain a pleasant panorama of McCarthy
Hill from Bass Pond. A round of golf at nearby Chicopee Country Club is a pleasant way to kill some time, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Connecticut River.
