There's so much to do here at Barnes Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Wilderness Experience Unlimtd is a nice place for that, and the scenery at Tekoa Dam is stunning. Barnes Pond is a rather wet place usually with a good deal of rainfall; most of the rain falls through May;       January on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Blandford since you're here, and Little River is a perfect whitewater spot close by. Any time is a good time at Barnes Pond if you like the outdoors. Go for a hike on the Richard Trail, and a round of golf at nearby Southwick Country Club is a tremendous way to kill some time. Barnes Pond is not the only place nearby, Tekoa Reservoir is a nearby lake, and you can make out Russell Mountain from Barnes Pond. Skiing at Ski Sundown is one of those things you just must do; in case you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Westfield River. High temperatures at Barnes Pond through the summer are in the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Barnes Pond. Going for a hike on the Link Trail is always a perfect adventure; if you've had enough of Barnes Pond, Moose Meadow Brook Reservoir is close by. If you need a spot to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites WESTFIELD is a good choice; you'll most likely meet some people from Springfield here. This lake is so wonderful.
