The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Baker Pond, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Through the winter the highs are typically in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Baker Pond. You can take a little trip to W D Cheney Dam since you're here at Baker Pond, and White Coach Motel is a splendid place to get some rest. While you're here at Baker       Pond you will meet lots of folks from nearby Willimantic. Lakes? Sure, Alum Pond is in close proximity. Baker Pond gets a good deal of water; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. A round of golf at nearby Hemlock Ridge Golf Course is a great way to kill some time. At Baker Pond you can distinguish Chamberlin Mountain; there are some wonderful whitewater                  spots on Natchaug River. And that's not all you can do here at Baker Pond. Really great skiing awaits you at Pine Ridge; swamps can be such out of the ordinary sites, stop at Single Swamp if you're here at Baker Pond. Quinebaug Cove Campground is a tremendous campground here, and after a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Sturbridge is a magnificent place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful.
