    If you are in this part of Massachusetts make sure to pay a visit to Ames Pond. Yep, outdoors entertaining things to do are in fact bountiful here at Ames Pond. A round of golf at nearby Braintree Municipal Golf Course is a good way to kill some time, and the skiing at Bradford is fine. This lake is so wonderful. Penns Hill is a peak you can catch a sight of from Ames Pond, and if you get bored of Ames Pond you could also stop by close by Cranberry Pond. There  
   are plenty of people from Boston-Cambridge-Quincy here at Ames Pond, and going to Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area is just something you need to do if you haven't yet.
There's whitewater on Charles River for all you thrill seekers, and obviously Cochato River is a scenic stream that is worth a visit. This lake is so wonderful. If you want to hit the beach, Wollaston Beach is around here, and after a long day outdoors Motel 6 is a good spot
 
               to spend a night or two. The annual rain here at Ames Pond is about average; November is the wettest month with most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture.
For the period of the warm months highs here at Ames Pond get into the 80's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 60's. All through the winter the highs are frequently in the 30's with temperatures at Ames Pond dipping down into the 20's throughout winter nights. So much enjoyable stuff near Ames Pond, absolutely extraordinary. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Cohasset Tidal Rip. There's so much to do here at Ames Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Norwell Campsites is a wonderful spot for that. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Blue Hills is close to Ames Pond, and at Old Quincy Reservoir Dam in the neighborhood of Ames Pond there are some interesting things to see.
On a wonderful day it's a fine idea to spend the day at Wessagusset Beach; you can stay the night at Prospect Lake Park. A great swamp right next door to Ames Pond is Arnold Meadow, and if you need a site to stay Marriott Boston Quincy is a great choice.
